Environment Analyst

In this role, you will support the HSEQ department and offshore team by ensuring compliance with all national and international environmental requirements. You’ll also be responsible for managing reports, indicators, visits, inspections, and assisting the HSEQ Manager in audit processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

What You Will Be Doing
Your main responsibility will be to:
- Promote the Company's environmental policy and strategy in all aspects of the Company's activities in relation to the main environmental aspects and the principles of ISO 14001 (and the UN Global Compact).
- Perform environmental monitoring and management of the fleet as the Management Representative of the Environmental Management System.
- Ensure that the ship's environmental objectives and targets are known and followed by the crew.
- Coordinate input into the ship's annual environmental review.
- Plan SOPEP/SMPEP simulations in cooperation with the Master/Chief Officer, using realistic scenarios.
- Assist the shore-based environmental organization in investigating accidents.
- Make recommendations to the environmental organization to prevent the recurrence of an accident or remove the hazard.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Assist senior ship management during internal and external environmental audits on board.
- Issuing national and international environmental reports (emissions, consumption, waste, water balance, effluent analysis, water analysis, PEAT monitoring).
- Visiting and inspecting vessels.
- Performing audits and inspections at subcontracted companies, if applicable.
Requirements
As our new Environment Analyst, we hope you will say yes to below requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environment Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related areas.
- Technical level in environmental study is an advantage.
- Experience of working with documentation/quality management systems.
- Appropriate qualifications or experience in ISO14001 systems and auditing.
- Knowledge of aspects of sustainability relevant to the maritime sector.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Portuguese.
