Responsibilities

  • Promote safety and in all respects demonstrate visible leadership in safety on board and in the office
  • Promote compliance and in all respects demonstrate visible leadership in driving identification of deficiency root causes and implementation of preventative actions for continual improvement on board and in the office
  • Contribute to develop and achieve the department’s overall business and strategic goals
  • Ensure that company policies, processes, procedures and work instructions regarding compliance with the ISM code, and other statutory rules, codes or other regulations applicable to operations and vessels are followed
  • Ensure that the Management System and risk management frameworks are adhered to in daily operations
  • Support that operations are carried out safely in accordance with company procedures to protect life, equipment and the environment
  • Provide first line technical support to vessels through reception, triage and timely handling of issues
  • Drive continuous technical improvement through best practice knowledge sharing, benchmarking of vessels and monitoring and follow up of performance
  • Maintain helicopter view of assigned vessels technical performance; address and respond to deficiencies
  • Ensure each vessel as assigned operates consistently according to an approved
  • Planned Maintenance System including flag state and classification survey schedules and dry-dock planning
  • Timely planning and execution of adequate technical maintenance of vessels, including coordination of RS jobs for dry-docking
  • Support Vessel Readiness Manager to ensure that assigned vessels are technically compliant with the requirements of the contract
  • Liaise as focal point to technical organization ensuring constructive, collaborative and timely handing of issues
  • Regular and continuous dialogue with offshore management to monitor and improve performance
  • Assist with benchmarking across vessel types to understand which vessel is best in class and to improve performance of sub-performing vessels
  • Collaborate effectively with all departments and ensure quality in execution of company processes, procedures and risk management framework application all aspects of the business
  • Continuously improve process landscape, data quality and cost control
  • Play an active role in the daily management of the business
  • Ensure 24/7/365 duty coverage for technical support as per duty rotation (only applicable for Lyngby based employees).
  • Support the C/E for the on board performance and technical condition of the vessels
  • Coaching of the Master and Chief Engineer on matters relevant to the efficient and safe operation of the vessel
  • Carry out vessel visits as necessary but at least once a year to conduct a Technical Vessel Inspection
  • Carry out appraisals of C/E in a timely manner according to internal procedures
  • Support the process for promotion of 2nd engineers to C/E
  • Support Crewing as subject matter experts in hiring senior engineers

Working conditions:

  • Position is part of a duty rotation and some work on weekends and outside normal business hours is required.
  • Position can require extensive travel to regions of operational responsibility.
  • Position interacts with third parties including suppliers, regulatory and occasionally government agencies.
