Job purpose

  • Promote A.P. Møller - Holding core values as well as Maersk Supply Service A/S policies are consistently applied to daily operations and professional interaction with third parties.
  • Promote understanding and acceptance of more visible commitment to HSE policy standards promulgated by A.P. Møller – Holding and/or Maersk Supply Service A/S;
  • Promote Health, Safety and Environment culture in Company.
  • Verify compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
  • Manage all safety campaigns and safety alerts sent by clients.
  • Manage Brazilian mandatory safety programs (PGR, PCA, PPR, LTCAT, Unhealth Report, Hazardous Report, Ergonomic Report).
  • Prepare HSSEQ reports whenever necessary.
  • Participate in SESMT, supporting and sharing knowledge within the scope of activity

Responsibilities

  • Promote health and safety to all collaborators and partners in every aspect of the organization.
  • Promote the protection of the environment at all operations in which there is a participation of Maersk Supply Service
  • Be proactive to solve all issues that are in function scope at the appropriate time.
  • Before making decisions, ensure that all assessments of economic and business issues have been made so all work is performed as efficiently and with best financial results as possible.
  • Identify the trend of unsafe actions and unsafe conditions and, provide recommendations in order to avoid future incidents.
  • Support incident person, whenever necessary.
  • Support Pay Hall to report Occupational Accident, where applicable.
  • Participate in incident investigation.
  • Follow up HSSEQ performance and prepare monthly reports.
  • Assist with environmental questions and occupational health when necessary.
  • Assist vessels in all audits onboard, when applicable to HSSEQ (ANVISA, IBAMA, client, etc);
  • Translate monthly safety poster.
  • Create or update procedures related to HSSEQ whenever necessary.
  • Give suggestions for improvement, among the job description responsibilities.
  • Participate in clients’ meetings, such as HSE Meetings, PEAT meetings, among others.
  • Prepare and conduct training for Pre-embark and induction of new employees.
  • Ensuring that non-conformities, observations and treatment of accidents are recorded in the Company's Management System, to an appropriate treatment and in time.
  • Prepare and control IBAMA’s PCP (Pollution control program);
  • Monitor and give adequate response to Safety Committee Meetings and GSSTB.
  • When possible, participate in the HSE meetings and GSSTB on board.

Qualifications

  • Courses in accordance with the qualification and training matrix:
  • Degree in Safety Technician.
  • Verbal and written fluency in Portuguese and English.
  • Solid knowledge of Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);
  • Minimum of 5 year of experience as a Work Safety Technician.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of local / international safety & maritime legislation.
  • Familiarization with the following regulations:
  • ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001/ ISO 45001, ISM Code, ISPS e DGSM

Working conditions

  • Full time. Travelling is expected.
  • Work place is Angra dos Reis, Brazil
  • During the first month, the work schedule will be regular office hours. Starting from the second month, the schedule will be either 2 PM to 11 PM OR 11 PM to 8 AM.
