Maersk Supply Service is looking for a skilled tax analyst to join the tax team in Rio. The role will be responsible for tax compliance and work closely with the finance team to ensure correct tax accounting. The position is based in Rio de Janeiro, and you will work closely with departments locally and abroad, especially the Headquarter in Denmark. Your job will be to ensure high quality tax compliance and correct accounting treatment of tax exposures.

Key responsibilities

As tax analyst, you will be reporting to the local tax manager. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Managing tax compliance for Maersk Supply Service Brazil;
  • Ensuring correct tax accounting and booking of tax exposures;
  • Timely and accurate month-end closing;
  • Ensuring all tax tasks outsourced to 3rd parties are duly in compliance and delivered timely;
  • Monitoring government mailboxes;
  • Reconciliation of tax balances to accounting records;
  • Completion of internal tax controls;
  • Maintain tax model for monthly corporate income taxes IRPJ/CSLL;
  • Optimise utilisation of tax credits;
  • Analyse and track company performance to avoid timing differences resulting in on account tax payments;
  • Ensure all tax and accounting requirements related to your responsibilities are complied with in timely manner;
  • Analysis and reporting of taxes paid;
  • Working closely with colleagues in various departments to ensure internal processes are adhered to and reporting deadlines are met;
  • Assistance to the tax and finance manager as required;

  We are looking for
A qualified Tax Analyst with at least 3-5 years’ experience from an international organization or large audit firm. You thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment and can engage and collaborate with colleagues around the Globe.

As a person you have/ are:

  • Degree qualified in tax and accounting;
  • Minimum 3 years' experience e.g. as Tax Analyst;
  • Experience from an international work environment, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector;
  • Big four experience is an advantage;
  • Solid knowledge of tax and accounting;
  • Strong analytical mind-set, results-oriented and quick learner;
  • You are energized and enjoy teamwork
  • Speak and write English fluently as our corporate language is English
  • Knowledge of IFS (ERP system) is preferred but not essential

The position will be based in Rio de Janeiro.
