We Offer
The procurement team in Maersk Supply Service is responsible for all procurement and logistics related activities supporting the organization globally. As a Junior Buyer, placed in Rio, you will get the chance to work in a global company supporting our growing fleet with all operational end to end procurement related matters within the Procure 2 Pay/delivery flow.  

You will support in placing purchase orders and arranging deliveries based on already existing contracts or managing RFQ’s from both local and global suppliers. With your experience, preferably, from the industry, you will, together with your colleagues, challenge our current supplier base ensuring we get the best possible quality to the lowest possible price and ensuring all orders are delivered on time in full. To succeed in the position, you need to work closely with a vast range of stakeholders in our global company. Ranging from procurement, the operational/technical teams, vessels in Brazil and the customs brokers and global/local logistics partners. Furthermore, if it’s an advantage if you know your way around dealing with demanding stakeholders which you sometimes need to challenge professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team in end-to-end operational procurement relates activities within the Procure 2 Pay/Delivery/Pay flow
  • Manage demands from vessels, ensuring we utilize our existing contracts or alternatively run RFQ’s with local and global suppliers
  • Support in arranging transports from our main consolidation warehouse in Denmark (for global orders). It’s important that all requirements/documents are in order, ensuring a successful and smooth importation process upon arrival in Brazil
  • Support in managing local logistics from suppliers and warehouse. We aim to consolidate these deliveries with shipments coming from Europe to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery process


The person we are looking for

  • Your educational background is BSc or MSc in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related areas.
  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience working within the area of logistics, importation, and supply chain primarily in Brazil - It is an advantage if you have experience from the offshore industry
  • It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the local supplier market to the offshore industry
  • You like getting your hands dirty and appreciate working in a challenging and dynamic environment
  • You can juggle many tasks at the same time and are able to quickly shift focus and priorities
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and can easily work together with a broad range of different stakeholders at different levels in the organization, while also being able to work independently
  • You are a” self-starter” and take responsibility and ownership if you see areas to improve
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese
  • Feeling comfortable working in a multicultural setting
  • IT literate for working with advanced procurement and ERP systems, preferable IFS10


Working conditions:

  • Applicants should have a Work Permit to work in Brazil
  • This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Rio, and you will be reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Management located in Denmark
