You will work as part of a small tax team in Maersk Supply Service, but you will be part and closely interact with the global tax team of the Maersk Group.

The tax team in Maersk Supply Service has a genuine business partnering role working closely with the finance, operational, legal and business services teams. The current tax team consist of 3 experienced tax professionals, 2 based in Denmark and 1 in Brazil.

Maersk Supply Service is executing complex cross border offshore solution projects both for Oil & Gas and for Floating Wind customers. You will primarily be responsible for all tax matters globally after contract award, from local registration to de-registration and everything in between. You will report to the Head of Tax.

Key Responsibilities

As International Tax Manager, you will have focus on the tax aspects when executing large, complex, cross border offshore solution projects, working on multiple international projects at the same time.

Your key role will be to ensure that all tax assumptions and tax findings from the tender phase are actually getting implemented and followed up with after contract award. You will be responsible for following up with the business on a wide variety of tax functional disciplines including corporate taxes and payroll taxes. For example, ensure timely filings of tax returns, timely tax payments, keep documentation for intercompany re-charges up to date, advise on withholding tax on payments to vendors and ensure compliance for local personal income tax and social security. 

Furthermore, you will manage the external tax service providers globally. They assist you with the tax compliance, local tax support for registration and de-registration and tax litigations. You will be the interface with Finance to ensure that the external tax service providers get the data that is needed for corporate tax compliance, indirect tax compliance, withholding tax filings, tax litigation and transfer pricing. 

You will often be acting as an intermediary between specialist international tax advisers and the business, explaining how the business operates on the one hand and demystifying tax technical complexities on the other.

You will be expected to keep yourself updated on changes in tax rules.

Some business travel is to be expected.

Who are we looking for

You are proactive, able to work autonomously and have the experience to assess the risks on tax related issues.

You have a relevant academic qualification, e.g. Master of Law, Business Administration, Commercial Law or Accounting.

You have a few years of international tax experience in a multinational company, audit firm or law firm (or a mixture).

Experience in the offshore maritime arena and/or shipping is beneficial but not essential.

Furthermore, you have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to identify solutions satisfying our commercial and operational objectives.

Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory.

The position is based in at out HQ in Lyngby, north of Copenhagen, and will be on local terms and conditions.
