By joining our pool of Project Managers in the Technical Support team, you will be heading a variety of projects from full vessel conversions to minor modifications and retrofits to our existing fleet. All “turn key”, from idea until delivery to our internal or external customers.
As the Technical Project Manager, you will join a skilled and dynamic technical team with high exposure and interface to the majority of the Maersk Supply Service (MSS) organization and customers worldwide.
Your work environment is professional, demanding and very exciting where accountability, commitment and an “Owners Mindset” from each team member is a given. Even during busy times, employees are always treated with respect and a good sense of humour. You can expect your tasks to vary from 3 minutes to 3 years duration.
In this role, you can expect daily interaction with various external technical specialists, companies and organisations. The expected level of business travel will vary, but approximately 40 days a year on average can be expected.
This position is based in Lyngby, Denmark, and is on local terms and conditions.
You will be project responsible for modification projects from planning with our Commercial department, including negotiations with external engineering companies (in cooperation with Procurement), shipyards, equipment suppliers and Class.
You are an integral member of the Technical Support team providing professional expertise and knowledge and proactively engaging in the constant development of the team to meet the requirements of other MSS departments.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning approvals, being visible at site from time to time, supervision, commissioning and hand-over of vessels to our fleet teams
- Creating value for our customers on the projects we deliver
- Turning complex challenges into simple and sustainable solutions
- Providing inspiring leadership to the assisting team members on projects and ensuring timely and "on budget" execution of projects assigned
You will be responsible for ensuring that safety and environmental considerations always is a non-negotiable priority and that lessons learned and in-house experience is captured for use as an integral part of developing our knowledge for the future.
Your background also enables you to act as a Subject Matter Expert on specific areas according to your education and experiences and as mapped in our competency matrix.
While carrying out your key responsibilities, you also keep a strong focus on the customer; taking a proactive approach in building, fostering, and managing the relationships with your stakeholders.
Who we are looking for:
We imagine you hold a degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized professional institution. You are already a successful technical Project Manager with the appetite to learn more, being constantly curious.
Your experience includes:
- Relevant technical project management experience within the marine, offshore or oil & gas related industries
- Experience with subsea support vessels (SSVs) is seen as a clear advantage
- Having a proven track record of success and skills within Project Management or as a Lead Engineer
As a person, you are a self-motivating individual with a strong drive and a structured approach to working. At the same time, you are a visible team player, natural at taking the lead and can motivate others. You are open minded, innovative, an excellent communicator towards all levels, able to maintain the overview in any situation being committed to always delivering solid project management.

- Excellent technical, interpersonal, management and team working skills; you are service-minded by nature
- Proficiency in written and spoken English language with good knowledge of offshore industry related terminology
